Camilla Molders Creative Interior Designer in Melbourne

Since 2004, Camilla Molders Design has been a Melbourne-based interior design studio dedicated to creating thoughtfully curated residential spaces that truly feel like home.

Imagine a home where every detail reflects your needs and aspirations. The layout is more than functional—it flows intuitively, adapting to your daily routines with ease. Furniture is carefully selected not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for comfort and practicality, striking that perfect balance between beauty and purpose.

In your bespoke sanctuary, colour becomes an expression of your personality, setting the mood and tone for every space. Custom storage solutions are seamlessly integrated, ensuring a clutter-free environment that fosters calm and serenity. Lighting is meticulously designed to blend art and function, creating an atmosphere that evolves with your lifestyle. Every corner of your home becomes a canvas for self-expression.

Artwork, textiles, and decor tell your story, weaving together the threads of your passions, interests, and life’s journey. Your home becomes more than a space; it becomes a reflection of who you are.

At Camilla Molders Design, we believe great design is about more than aesthetics. It’s about crafting an environment that enhances your life, a place where you can truly feel at ease. With a warm and collaborative approach, we guide you through this creative journey to design a home that is uniquely yours.

Camilla Molders

With over 30 years of experience, Camilla Molders has been creating beautifully bespoke interiors in Melbourne, blending her passion for design with a dedication to individuality and functionality.

Camilla’s love for design was evident from an early age, as she sketched imaginative floor plans complete with unique details—such as shark-infested moats—a playful nod to her celebration of originality in every project. Today, while the sharks have been replaced with more practical elements, her commitment to crafting spaces that are both creative and practical remains at the heart of her work.

Known for her deep expertise in fabrics, fixtures, and finishes, Camilla offers clients a tailored design experience that includes custom cabinetry and furniture, ensuring every detail is as unique as the people who live in the spaces she creates. Her work has been widely recognised, featured in leading Australian and international publications, blogs, and websites, cementing her reputation as a designer who brings personality and elegance to every home.

Behind the scenes, Nick Scott—fondly known as the offsider—plays a vital role at CMD. With over three decades as an engineer and a passion for architecture, Nick has designed and built many of his own homes, bringing a wealth of practical building knowledge to the team. His expert skills in computer drafting and meticulous attention to detail perfectly complement Camilla’s creative vision. Together, they form a dynamic duo, seamlessly blending imagination and precision to create exceptional interiors.

“We’ve worked with Camilla over the years on a number of projects in our house. It’s very much a work in progress, and as we renovate, Camilla has been a great point of reference, offering clarity to our thoughts, distilling the husband’s and my sometimes-disparate ideas into clever workable solutions. I admire her vision and creativity, but she never forgets that it’s our house and needs to reflect us and how we live.” – Client, Abbotsford

Why work with a Designer

Because creating a home that looks beautiful is one thing. Creating a home that works beautifully for you and your needs is another.

Your home should reflect how you live, what you love and all those little things that make you who you are. Not someone else’s idea of what a home should look like!

At Camilla Molders Design, we bring experience, creative thinking and a considered approach to every project. We look at the bigger picture, getting the function and flow right from the beginning, then bring it all together with colour, texture, bespoke furniture, art and those unexpected details that give a home its personality.

We have spent years building relationships with talented makers, artisans and trusted suppliers, giving our clients access to beautiful materials, custom-designed pieces and solutions you might not find off the shelf.

And importantly, we guide you through the process. From the initial ideas and planning through to the final layers, we coordinate the details, think through the challenges and help you avoid costly mistakes along the way.

We don’t take the responsibility of creating your home lightly. It’s your sanctuary — the place you recharge, connect and live your life. It deserves thoughtful design, not a cookie-cutter formula.

Our job is to bring the ideas, experience and know-how. Your job is to enjoy coming home.

Sustainable Design

At Camilla Molders Design, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We’re deeply committed to environmentally responsible practices across every aspect of our design and manufacturing processes—it’s a value we hold close, not just a tick-the-box exercise.

Wherever possible, we incorporate eco-friendly materials into our designs, ensuring your space is not only beautiful but also kind to the planet. Over the years, we’ve built strong relationships with trusted suppliers who share our passion for sustainability, allowing us to deliver materials and finishes that align with our values while achieving exceptional results.

We’re proud to have been recognized for our dedication to green design, winning both the Kitchen and Bathroom Design categories in the inaugural 2013 ‘Your Future Home Green Interiors Awards.’

At CMD, creating stunning, sustainable spaces is more than our work—it’s our mission.
