Kew Grand House
A thoughtful Renovation of a Kew Grand Period Home
We undertook a comprehensive renovation of the Kew Grand House, working closely with the architect to seamlessly integrate a modern addition while preserving the integrity of the original period structure. Our design approach was deeply respectful of the home’s rich heritage, with every detail honoring its history. Custom-designed rugs, featuring carved detailing inspired by the home’s era, were a key feature, adding warmth and luxury while bridging the aesthetic of the old and new spaces. Vibrant color choices, multifunctional furniture, and carefully restored vintage pieces further enhanced the design, creating a stylish, family-friendly environment. The result is a beautifully balanced space that harmonizes tradition with contemporary living, celebrating the home’s timeless character while embracing modern functionality

The kitchen was designed with family life in mind, blending practicality with sophisticated style. Dark veneer cabinetry adds warmth and depth, while a tiled splashback with vibrant blue grout provides a subtle yet striking detail. This choice echoes the electric blue accents in nearby furnishings, creating a cohesive flow throughout the space. The result is a kitchen that feels both functional and thoughtfully designed, with every detail, no matter how small, contributing to a harmonious and polished aesthetic.
We designed a multifunctional custom desk system that seamlessly blends functionality with style. Positioned in the living area, this innovative piece provides dedicated workspaces for each child, ensuring they have their own space to focus and create. When the workday is done, the desk transforms effortlessly: a quick close of the lids hides away any clutter, turning it into a sleek console table that complements the room’s decor. This clever design, featured in House & Garden magazine’s Home Organisation tips, strikes the perfect balance between practicality and elegance, making it an essential feature for a busy family home.
In the playroom at the Kew house, color takes center stage with a playful yet cohesive design. Each window blind features a different vibrant hue, adding energy and individuality to the space. These bold colors are thoughtfully tied together by the pink accent wall by the pool, visible through the windows. The interplay of shades creates a sense of connection between the indoor and outdoor areas, making the playroom feel bright, engaging, and seamlessly integrated into the home’s overall palette. It’s a joyful celebration of color designed to inspire creativity and fun.
The entrance of the Kew house sets the tone for the home with a perfect blend of heritage and personality. A custom green rug, designed to echo the client’s favorite color, features intricate detailing inspired by the home’s era, adding a subtle nod to its history. Paired with a vintage cabinet from the same period, lovingly restored and painted in a complementary shade of green, the space feels both warm and thoughtfully curated. Together, these elements celebrate the home’s character while offering a glimpse of the unique design story that unfolds within
